More on what we are about

.Kalamazoo, is a grassroots, faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting African and other refugee families in Kalamazoo County, Michigan. The organization operates under the spiritual and community leadership of Pastor Joshua Kibezi, who began the work around 2017, with official nonprofit status and programming expanding by 2019, supported by a grant from the Kalamazoo Community Foundation.

ACF functions under the umbrella of Emmanuel Full Gospel Church, a multicultural Christian church that supports refugees through both spiritual guidance and practical services.

ACF operates a range of grassroots support programs designed to meet the immediate and long-term needs of refugee families. These services are provided primarily through volunteer efforts, donations, and partnerships with local churches and nonprofits.

African Community Kalamazoo (ACF) is a vital, grassroots organization that provides hands-on, culturally competent support to refugee families—especially African refugees—who are rebuilding their lives in Kalamazoo County. Led by Pastor Joshua Kibezi and a small, dedicated team, ACF offers essential services such as food, housing navigation, ESL, employment help, and legal support. With a long-term vision of building jobs, housing, and community-owned businesses, ACF represents a powerful example of faith in action, community self-determination, and refugee-led transformation.
